View Full Version : Identity theft

RegisP
Hey, Looking for your Dad to play some golf with here in sunny SW Florida. Anyway, remember the spiel we chatted abuot privacy and consumer theft a few months ago. I asked a question about "who owns your credit report" Well the logic to that question is now surfacing. If someone is stealing MY identity than I believe that I own my credit report. (Got to take a stand sooner or later)

I remember you talked about a "pin" number regarding credit reports. That seems like the only way to go. Maybe it's time to let the O'Riely factor TV program and other media guru's in on what should or would be a solution to this ever increasing problem.

Just thought I would revist some old mail and comment. Christine, your were right on about a pin number for each individual. Let's run with that thought. I wanted to throw it out here where the rest of the creative genuises could massage the concept and figure how to get it into the right hands.

Thank,s RegisP

Experían owns your credit report. What you own is your good reputation, which you are entitled to protect against libel and slander.

Regis, my dad just got to FL last week, and the first thing he had to do is pay a Sprint collection to get his phone turned on again.

He had the phone bill on auto draft to his FL checking account. They did that for a while, then stopped for no reason, shut off the phone and sent it to collection .... I'll send you his new number, Sprint claimed that they assigned his old # to someone else. Funny thing is, it's a disconnected # when you call it.

And who owns your credit report? Who knows ... One thing's for sure, the bureaus are NOT protecting anyone from slander or ID theft.

I REALLY hope I'll find the time to file my suit soon, I'll ask for my PIN and unlimited online access to all reports, and I may ask for an order for TU to purge all data related to me.
