I am in a load of credit trouble. I am unsure what to do at this point. Everyone I have talked to, professional or otherwise, says CCCS or bankruptcy. I visited www.springboard.org and it sounds OK. Here is a detailed overview of my credit life.

Chevron $400 balance since 4/2002
Fingerhut paid in full, 10/2001-1/2002

All of these cards/lines pretty much are at or over the limit. Since means when account was opened.

I do not have money to pay most of these anymore, due to illness and financial problems. I have three deferred student loans as well.

Any tips?

Option # 3: Stop paying everybody except for the car payment. If you can't pay that, just drive it till they repo.

Send a letter to the other creditors requesting that they not call you as you can't pay due to illness and advising them that you consider filing for bankruptcy. Some might ignore your request.

In that case, get a new unlisted number and have the old one disconnected.

There's no such thing as debtors prison. If you're judgment proof, WHY bother to discharge those small debts?

And, do a search here for CCC - or even better, just don't consider it.

"Through our counseling, consumer education and Debt Management Plan (DMP), we provide your customers with their best alternative to bankruptcy, and at the same time, help them meet their obligation to you."

At least they're honest, they're debt collectors. ALL the consumer's disposable income will be sent to the creditors.
