Hi,

Ok so I go to eloan.com today to request a free score. This is what I get:

Based on your credit report data, your CreditXpert Credit Score™ is 697

My confusion is this:
TU: 732
Equifax: 617
Experian: 645

I thought eloan was equifax meaning why in the hell is my score 80 pts higher with them?????

Also, I am thinking of refi'in my car loan. Currently I owe 13,400 at 9.9%. They show different rates. With my score above, am I excellent, good, fair or poor?

If I could refi to 6-7% is it worth doing? The calculators always seem to show that doing it actually will cost me more for the same term i am in now!

Thanks a lot for any help!

Allen

The CreditXpert score offered on E-LOAN isn't the FICO score. Neither are the scores offered on the TU and Experian sites. With the possible exception of the TU score, which tends to be higher, they all usually track each other fairly closely, but you could be one of the exceptions. By fairly closely, I mean within around 60 points, which is as much as you can ask for given the typical differences in data between the bureaus.

There is no guarantee with E-LOAN that you're getting a score based on Equifax. Except for the bureaus themselves, all the online report and score delivery systems have a feature where if they try to pull Equifax and get a time out, they'll pull one of the other bureaus.

If you can refi your car loan from 9.9 to 6 or 7, it's definitely worth it! Unless there was a massive processing fee, you couldn't lose money on it.

Based on your scores, my guess is you'd be rated a fair credit risk.

The trans union report now offers a real FICO score as well as the old TU score.
