View Full Version : Completed CCCS, credit repair ?s

Montster
Hello Christine (and whoever else might be able to give me advice),

My wife and I completed CCCS more than two years ago and just recently checked our credit reports after a credit denial. We've noted some errors and are in the process of disputing them, but I have three questions about other notations:

1. What's the best way to get CCCS notations removed? Can I just request an investigation with the credit bureau, or will I need to haggle with the creditor?

2. Now that we're several years clear of ever having made a late payment, is there any way to have the "prior paying history" cleared of those late payments we made in 1998-1999?

3. This might be tougher, but can I get the "account closed by credit grantor" removed from some of those accounts, as well?

Any help would be most appreciated.

p.s.: I was listening to Suze Ohrman on my drive home yesterday and she said FICO no longer deducts points for CCCS notations -- is this correct?

For what it worth... I cancelled my CCCS program and all of the accounts that were reporting the notation no longer do. If it doesn't go away you will probably have to dispute and fight to get it removed.

As for FICO deducting points... YES-- absolutely they do! My Equifax score detailed the info and mentioned YES for negative description.

Hope this helps!
